She Loves A Good Visual

Divot is my TV, computer, and fish watcher. She is easily visually stimulated.
She loves to watch TV, especially if there are animals on or animated things.
She loves to watch me type on the computer and also enjoys watching the
fish in the aquarium. When she is introduced to a new visual, she tends to get
a little "obsessive" about it. When I first introduced her to a web site of another
Norwich owner who has QuickTime movies of her dog Crockett, she would
watch them for hours if I let her. All the while with her head tilting back and
forth and she'd even try to climb on the desk to get closer to the screen. I'd let
her watch a few of the videos, depending upon how much time I had and then
I'd put her down. She would sit on the floor, eyes fixed upward, front paw raised
(that's when I know her curiosity is piqued) and looking up at the computer
screen staring and wishing the videos to come back. When I'm working at my
desk Divot is usually sitting or laying across my lap or lying beneath the desk on
a pillow. If she is laying on my lap sometimes it's as if she has the need to be close
so she will sit up and lay back in the crook of my arm (like a baby) and watch
me type. Sometimes I look down at her and she's looking up lovingly at me and
then she'll look back at the computer screen. Divot also became very obsessed
with an aquarium I set up earlier this year. She would sit on a chair watching the
fish or stand on the floor staring upward, with that front paw lifted and head tilting
back and forth as if trying to understand what they were. Both of my dogs enjoy
watching dog shows of all things and animated movies like "A Bug's Life." They
have also been known to watch large portions of the movie "Homeward Bound"
and they like Emergency Vet's and America's Funniest Animals. I love to watch
the expressions on their faces and the way they tilt their heads as if trying to
understand and take everything in. Just one more way they are so endearing.
